| THE RIGHT DIAGNOSIS CAN SAVE YOU MONEY |
The
AAMCO External Diagnostic Service is a systematic and comprehensive
three-part external evaluation of the overall performance and condition of your
transmission.
- A trained technician will check the level and condition of your
transmission fluid. A low fluid level may indicate a leak, while burnt or
contaminated fluid may point to overheating or other transmission
problems.
- The technician takes your car on a road test to experience first-hand
any problems you have noticed, and to evaluate your car’s
performance.
- Your vehicle will be placed on a lift to inspect underneath for any
possible external cause of the problem.
From these tests, our qualified EDS technician can determine what type of
problem you might have, and make a recommendation for the necessary
service. In many cases, the problem is more minor in nature, and in that case
does not require an internal transmission service. |

The AAMCO Computer Diagnostic Service is performed to determine
whether or not an electronic component is affecting your transmission’s
shifting or overall performance. In addition to the electronic components, we
also check the solenoids, sensors, and the wiring that affects the transmission.
Again, it is entirely possible that a more minor repair than an internal
transmission service may correct your vehicle’s problem—but it takes an
expert to know. |

When it comes to repairing the transmission itself, no one is more thorough
than AAMCO. An AAMCO Reconditioned Service for either an
automatic
or manual transmission includes the following:
- A complete disassembly of the unit.
- A complete cleaning and inspection of your transmission’s internal and
external components. Our technicians will know which parts need to be
replaced in order for your transmission to run smoothly again. An
advantage to rebuilding rather than replacing the transmission is that
only those components that are worn and/or damaged or are required
to be replaced due to updates by the original equipment manufacturer,
will be replaced—which could save you money in the process.
- After the inspection, our AAMCO center will contact you to confirm
which components need to be replaced and their cost before any
repairs are begun.
- Finally, our expert builder then rebuilds your transmission to AAMCO’s
high quality standards, so you can get back on the road.
